In
our Inaugural year of the Cascade Lakes Relay, 62 teams registered to
compete making it the second largest first year relay in the country.
The inaugural teams raved about the scenic beauty of the course, the
camaraderie of the teams, and how well organized services were for a
first year relay. Our goal is to provide a relaxing, intimate, and
challenging relay that maximizes the beautiful scenery found in the
Central & Southern Oregon regions. At 216.6 miles, the Cascade Lakes Relay is considered the longest relay in the United States. Participants this year felt that the course was slightly more challenging and diverse than other relays they've run, and enjoyed the varying terrain and less congested roadways and exchange points. They mentioned the fresh air, rural roads, great sleepover areas, and more intimate experience as high points of the weekend. "What I liked: the variety of teams, the camaraderie on our team and between teams, the route was scenic, that air was fresh, the sleepover at Silver Lake, the night run because of the cool air. It was great to be in the country and not in the city with all the cars." Pat Creedican Our family looks forward to seeing you at next year's race! Register early to be sure your team can compete, as we will cap the event to ensure an enjoyable experience for all. |
